Flash Game in Production: Director's Cut

Mon Aug 24, 2009, 6:21 PM
Oh that's right, my rag-tag team of animators is trying its hand at the world of flash games. The team (code-named Team Danger) has been in developement on a game for the past few months; i've kept my mouth shut about it because i didn't want to get you all excited and not have anything to show. but i can't contain it anymore! here's a link to our production blog, in case you want to keep up with the concept design process as it occurs:

[link]

the game's working title is Director's Cut; it's a platform-style fighter/beat-em-up. think (smash bros + street fighter + final fight)/3. it's themed as though you play an actor in the most rediculous B action film of all time; the shots have to look real, so you have to fight for your right to be lead character! all the characters and levels will be themed after some type of movie archetype. (example: Z-funk is the blaxsploitation/dance film, Cpt Leydecker is 1960's scifi, and Mr. Jazz Hands is musical theatre!) I'm not going to go into too much detail here, you can read all about it on the blog. anyways, it's still a ways off, but i hope you guys are half as excited as i am about it! we're thinking this is going to release as a free-to-play online game. anyways, if you are interested, stay tuned to the production blog as that's where we will be posting news and updated. allright, i've got more coding to do; peace out.

Hey man. :]
I was wondering if you were still doing commissions? I've been looking for someone to draw up three characters from my long-term writing project I've been working on. ( Not a book. I feel cocky if I call it a book, like I'll jinx myself into never finishing it. ;_; )
I don't have the money right now, but once I get a job, it's one of the first things I'm gonna be doing.

Let me know.

oh yeah, sure thing! that's actually one of my favourite types of projects to get invovled in, because i've noticed that a lot of writers get even more inspired with thier stories once they have the visual aid. but yeah, hit me up when you are ready; i'd love to help out! (if you dig around in my old journals they'll have the commission proces) good luck getting a job, talk to you later!

If you stop drawing your mom will say, "I told you so."

I need to thank you, sincerely, for teaching me so many things. My animation has increased like a Saiyan who was about to die then ate a senzu bean. You ChabiVsSempai file really helps especially when I want to learn things like your sense of timing and anticipation. Thanks Pat

no problem, bro! i had 1 lesson from one of the lead animators at cartoon network, les harper, and my animation was never the same. so i have no problem passing on the stuff i learned to the rest of us animators. 2D shall rise again!
